The new group NOWZ (나우즈) from Cube Entertainment is collaborating with Yuqi from the group I-DLE.
On June 9, Cube Entertainment released a “character film” via its official channels for the pre-release single from NOWZ’s first mini-album, titled “IGNITION.”
In the video, the rabbit character “Kkiki,” portrayed by Yuqi, waves a magic wand, transforming five glowing gemstones into characters representing the members of NOWZ: a monkey for HYEONBIN, a dog for YOON, a dinosaur for YEONWOO, a bear for JINHYUK, and a fox for SIYUN. This colorful animation features a special encounter between Yuqi, a senior artist at Cube Entertainment, and her younger colleagues from NOWZ, generating even more excitement around the group’s comeback.
Yuqi has contributed to writing and composing several songs for I-DLE, such as “I’m the trend,” “Lost,” “Giant,” “어린 어른,” “Last forever,” and “Love tease,” a track from their recently released 8th mini-album “WE ARE”. She had already showcased her talents as a singer-songwriter with her first solo mini-album “YUQ1″, released in April 2023. Her involvement in NOWZ’s debut is therefore raising high expectations about the creative synergy she could bring to this fresh start.
Additionally, NOWZ will release its pre-release single on June 17, ahead of the official launch of its first mini-album “IGNITION”.
