JYP Entertainment has officially launched the search for the next generation of hitmakers with the “JYP Publishing Songwriter Audition 2025,” announced by the agency on Monday.

The audition process is open to applicants worldwide who have at least one officially released K-pop track. Aspiring songwriters, producers, and trackmakers can submit their work through the JYP Publishing website from Monday until July 23.
Unlike typical music auditions, this one targets experienced creators. JYP Publishing, the in-house copyright and composition company founded by Park Jin Young, also known as J.Y. Park, has been home to some of K-pop’s most iconic songwriters.
These include Hong Ji Sang, known for DAY6’s “Time of our life” (2019); Shim Eun Ji, who contributed to TWICE’s “We pray” and ITZY’s “Sorry not sorry” (2023); and Lee Woo Min, known for TWICE’s “Talk that talk” (2022) and NMIXX’s “High horse.”
“Every year, this audition helps us discover creators who redefine the K-pop sound. We’re looking for writers with a sharp ear for trends and the ability to shape the emotional architecture of a song,” said a JYP representative.
Applicants can enter solo or in teams of up to three people, submitting their work in one of three categories. After an initial screening, selected candidates will be invited to a collaborative songwriting camp, where finalists will create new tracks. Winners will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to sign an exclusive contract with JYP Publishing.
Anyone, regardless of age, gender, or education level, can apply as long as they have previously released at least one K-pop track. In an industry where new talent often breaks through via YouTube or TikTok, JYP’s requirement highlights the importance of professional experience and proven potential, according to the agency.
The application period is open until July 23. More information, including submission guidelines and deadlines, is available on the official JYP Publishing website.
