KIHYUN, a member of the group MONSTA X, has confirmed his nickname as the “exceptional youngest member.”

On July 14, KIHYUN appeared on the show “Ryustudent Unamseon” aired on E Channel, where he presented his “culinary study recipe” from his latest culinary study destination, Sicily, Italy.
The night before preparing the “culinary study recipe,” KIHYUN worked out with Ryoo Soo Young and Yoon Kyung Ho, creating a lively atmosphere. During that time, KIHYUN’s songs “Youth” and “Bad liar” played, and KIHYUN proudly said, “Those are my songs,” showing off his charming youngest member vibe. The two responded warmly, saying, “KIHYUN was the vocalist, he’s the main vocalist,” creating a cozy atmosphere.
The next day, KIHYUN headed to Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano, for a special outdoor class. He set out to make granita, a type of shaved ice similar to a slush, using snow from Etna. Upon tasting it, he expressed his admiration and ate every last drop, showing his love for desserts.
Afterward, KIHYUN visited a master of traditional Sicilian cuisine to fully experience local dishes. Focusing on Sicilian meatballs, he said, “The harmony with the pickled tomatoes is amazing—it’s like eating sweet and sour pork without the batter, paired with pickled radish,” a familiar comparison that resonated well. Additionally, when the master sliced the meat, KIHYUN commented, “That’s guanciale; I’ve had it before in aglio olio,” demonstrating his knowledge of even local ingredients, impressing the older cast members.
Having tasted the local dishes and taken thorough notes, KIHYUN returned to his lodging and began preparing his “meat tangsu” (sweet and sour meat dish), which he had chosen as his “culinary study recipe.” He showcased advanced cooking skills by precisely measuring ingredients, grating cheese for umami, and using milder red onions. True to his nickname as a “nut lover,” he added ground pine nuts, adding his own personal “kick” to the dish. Moreover, he actively asked Ryoo Soo Young many questions to perfect his “meat tangsu.” Especially, Ryoo Soo Young praised KIHYUN’s special sauce aroma, saying, “The smell right now is unreal. This is top-tier cooking.”

Finally, after tasting KIHYUN’s “meat tangsu,” Ryoo Soo Young and Yoon Kyung Ho were impressed with his cooking, and KIHYUN laughed confidently, delighted by their reactions.
