Touted as the “super rookie of the indie scene,” GONGWON is drawing attention from both the music industry and fans with her distinctive band sound. She now delivers a message of comfort to those leading intense lives in big cities.

According to her agency Archive Achim, GONGWON will release her new digital single titled “SEOUL” on July 22 at 6 PM (KST) through major music streaming platforms.
The new track “Seoul”, written and composed by GONGWON herself, is a post-rock song that blends solace for those bearing the weight of reality with the hope that lies beyond.
Over intricate and meticulously crafted drums, lyrical vocal lines layer harmoniously, while loud, shoegaze-inspired guitars build a sonic atmosphere that is both dreamy and powerful. This multidimensional musical texture reflects the complex and often contradictory emotions found in a metropolis like Seoul.

The lyrics, “We’ll make it somehow / We’ll end up being found / Yes, here like this / We’ll be alive, we’ll protect ourselves,” convey a determination not to give up hope, even under the overwhelming pressures of urban life.
The already revealed single cover shows GONGWON from behind, running toward an emergency exit glowing with bright light. A mood film released alongside it depicts GONGWON wandering through the bustling streets of Seoul, amid crowds, cars, and city lights, before eventually returning home. The visuals have sparked anticipation around the official music video.

The day before the release, GONGWON performed “Seoul“ live during a recording of her concert for Tune Up. She was recently selected for the 26th edition of the “Tune Up” program, organized by the CJ Cultural Foundation to support independent musicians. She has stood out on several stages dedicated to showcasing emerging talent, solidifying her status as an up-and-coming artist to watch.
As the first rookie artist under the Archive Achim label, home to Jo Kwon, Hong Isaac, and Kim Je Hyung, GONGWON officially debuted last March. Her new single “SEOUL” is now available on all major music platforms as of 6 PM today.
