The group STRAY KIDS has been nominated for the fourth consecutive year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (hereinafter “MTV VMA”), one of the major music award shows in the United States.

According to the official website and social media channels of the MTV VMA on August 5 (local time), STRAY KIDS was nominated in the “Best K-Pop“ category for “Chk Chk Boom,” the title track from its mini-album “ATE”, released in July 2024.
The group received its first nomination in this category in 2022 with “Maniac” from the mini-album “ODDINARY.” In 2023, they won the award with “S-Class“ (original title: “특”), the lead track from their third full-length album “★★★★★ (5-STAR)”, and in 2024, they were nominated again for “樂 (LALALALA),” the title track of the mini-album “樂-STAR (ROCK-STAR).”
Launched in 1984, the MTV VMA is considered one of the four major music award ceremonies in the U.S., alongside the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards. This year, STRAY KIDS continues to shine across multiple award shows: they won “Music Video of the Year” and “Best 3 Albums” at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards, “Favorite Music Group” at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards, and, for the second year in a row, “K-Pop Album of the Year” at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Currently in the middle of their largest-ever world tour, “Stray Kids World Tour ‘DominATE’”, the group is making history with record-breaking performances in massive stadiums around the world. They are set to make their comeback on August 22 with the release of a new full-length album titled “KARMA.”
This marks their first release in about eight months, following the success of their SKZ-HIPHOP MIXTAPE project “合 (HOP),” which earned them six consecutive #1s on the Billboard 200 chart. It is also their first studio album since “★★★★★ (5-STAR)”, which came out in June 2023, more than two years ago.
The new album, “KARMA,” will include 11 tracks, including the title track “Ceremony.” The group’s in-house production trio, 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han), participated extensively in the album’s creation, once again showcasing the group’s distinct musical identity.
STRAY KIDS’ fourth full-length album, “KARMA,” will be released on August 22 at 1 PM KST (midnight EST), with a simultaneous global release.
