Singer ALi will take the stage today, the 16th, for the closing performance of the Seodaemun Independence Festival.
Organized to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Seodaemun Independence Festival is being held from the 14th to the 16th around the Seodaemun Prison History Hall and the Independence Park. The festival features a variety of commemorative performances to reflect on the meaning of Liberation.
The commemorative ceremony and celebratory concert, held the night before (the 15th), included a congratulatory address by Yonsei University honorary professor Kim Hyung Seok, a Liberation-themed musical, and performances by singers Jung Dong Ha and Jang Minho.
Today’s closing concert, set for the main stage at Independence Park, will bring together a wide range of artists, including ALi, Park Koo Yoon, and Han Dong Geun, to deliver a rich and diverse performance.
On this day, ALi will perform a series of songs imbued with Korean culture and sentiment, such as « 남생아 놀아라 », « 진달래꽃 피었습니다 », « 네잎클로버 », and « 사람이 꽃보다 아름다워 », in tribute to the spirit of sacrifice of the independence martyrs.
ALi is currently a full-time professor in the Department of Applied Music at Hongik University’s School of Performing Arts. Last May, she released her new single « 진달래꽃 피었습니다 » and has continued her active music career. She is also currently on a nationwide concert tour with Jung Dong Ha, titled “THE GREATEST: 불후의명곡 정동하X알리”, while also meeting fans through her 20th debut anniversary concert, “Yongjin.”
