DEUX
The hip-hop group DEUX (composed of Lee Hyun Do and the late Kim Sung Jae), very popular in the 1990s, is making a comeback with a new album.

According to an article from Yonhap News published on August 16, member LEE HYUN DO plans to release DEUX’s fourth album by recreating the voice of KIM SUNG JAE, who passed away 30 years ago, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The project involves extracting the voice from DEUX’s original recordings, artificially recreating KIM SUNG JAE’s voice, and then adding LEE HYUN DO’s voice to produce new tracks. A music video for the new song is also in preparation. The release of a new single and the full studio album is planned for the end of the year.
Currently, LEE HYUN DO is seeking a specialized company to handle the voice extraction and learning process for the creation of the new tracks. Since 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of KIM SUNG JAE’s passing, he has also requested and obtained the family’s approval to use his voice.
DEUX, which debuted in 1993, achieved massive success with its new jack swing style before disbanding abruptly in July 1995. A few months later, in November of the same year, KIM SUNG JAE made his solo debut but passed away suddenly shortly afterward.
