THE8, a member of SEVENTEEN, has released his self-composed song titled “Star crossing night (feat. GALI).”
The track was released on August 29 at 11 a.m. KST on the Chinese platform Douyin (抖音) via SODA MUSIC, and will be available from August 30 on Melon, Genie, Spotify, YouTube, and other streaming services.
The song reflects on memories of love. Inspired by a shooting star, THE8 participated in both the lyrics and composition. GALI, the rapper who placed third in the Chinese competition “Rap of China 2020″, features on the track. The song blends electronic music and R&B with THE8’s vocals.
This single was produced through a collaboration between Douyin and the British magazine Wonderland. The cover art features THE8 under a starry sky, and a music film in Shorts format will be released soon.
Outside of his activities with SEVENTEEN, THE8 has released songs such as “Dreams come true”, “那幕 (Falling down)”, “Side by side”, and “海城 (Hai Cheng)”. Last year, he released his first Chinese EP, “STARDUS”T, for which he participated in the full production.
On September 20 and 21, he will perform as a headliner on the final day of the YJ Music Festival in Beijing. This will mark his first solo appearance at a major festival.
