CHOI MINHO
MINHO (Choi Minho) of SHINee appeared at the Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, where the Korean Olympic Committee headquarters is located.

On September 29, the Korean Olympic Committee announced that MINHO, member of SHINee, had been appointed promotional ambassador on September 26. At the appointment ceremony held in the main conference room on the 13th floor of the Olympic Hall, Yoo Seung Min, the committee’s president, presented MINHO with a plaque of appointment.
The committee’s promotional ambassadors participate in activities such as:
-
contributing to the “modernization of sports” (promoting less popular disciplines, protecting human rights in sports, etc.),
-
managing the official social media of the Korean Olympic Committee (YouTube, Instagram, blog, TikTok, etc.),
-
taking part in the committee’s major events and projects as well as volunteer activities,
-
promoting sports participation through guest lectures in local communities and to member federations.
MINHO is expected to play a key role in promoting the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics nationally, as well as in revitalizing leisure sports through talent-sharing activities. He will also take part in various communication campaigns and in spreading messages related to sports policy.

President Yoo stated:
“We are honored to welcome MINHO of SHINee, one of the global leaders of the Hallyu K-POP wave, as a promotional ambassador of the committee. We expect him to play an important role not only in promoting the Korean Olympic Committee and next year’s Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, but also in the development of national sports.”
MINHO responded:
“It is an honor to be appointed promotional ambassador of the committee. I will commit to promoting Korean sports and the Korean Olympic Committee through various projects and content.”
In addition, MINHO is also known as the son of Choi Yoon Gyeom, the first head coach of Yongin FC, which will join the professional K League 2 next year. A passionate sports fan and enthusiast of many disciplines, he is also recognized as a true “sports maniac.” It remains to be seen whether MINHO will become an ally to Yoo Seung Min in his reform efforts, not only for elite sports but also for amateur sports.
