British fashion magazine ELLE UK has issued an apology after excluding ROSÉ of BLACKPINK from a group photo taken at Paris Fashion Week.

The British fashion magazine ELLE UK issued an apology this Friday regarding a recent Instagram post that had excluded ROSÉ, a member of BLACKPINK, from a group photo taken at Paris Fashion Week.
The apology responds to the controversy that arose after the member of BLACKPINK was removed from the photo, which many critics perceived as racially discriminatory. The magazine explained that Rosé “was cropped from a group photo for sizing reasons” in its Instagram story.

The magazine clarified that it “did not intend to offend anyone.”
“We sincerely apologize for a recent Paris Fashion Week post in which ROSÉ of BLACKPINK was cropped from a group photo for sizing reasons,” ELLE UK wrote.
“The post has been removed, and ELLE UK remains committed to ensuring that our future coverage represents the full spectrum of our audience, whom we deeply respect,” the magazine added.
According to the music industry, ROSÉ attended Paris Fashion Week last month as a global ambassador for the luxury brand Saint Laurent.
A photo of four celebrities, with ROSÉ of BLACKPINK at the far right, was shared on Instagram by Charli XCX.
At the event, ROSÉ posed alongside Hailey Bieber, wife of singer Justin Bieber, British artist Charli XCX, and actress Zoë Kravitz. However, the original photo published by ELLE UK only showed Bieber, Charli XCX, and Kravitz, excluding ROSÉ, who was at the far right.
The controversy further escalated when Charli XCX posted the photo of all four people on her own Instagram, with ROSÉ clearly visible.
As negative reactions intensified, the British magazine published several solo photos of Rosé on Wednesday, highlighting her style at the event and writing: “The most remarkable look was by BLACKPINK star #ROSÉ.”
However, netizens criticized this publication as “too late” and “disrespectful,” with some demanding direct apologies to the artist.
The magazine later revised its post of ROSÉ’s solo photos to include an apology, noting that Instagram story posts disappear 24 hours after being uploaded.
