CORTIS has earned the honor of being named the “Best Newcomer of the Year,” leading the short-form content trend in 2025.
The group CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, Keonho) received the “Global Rookie” award at the “TikTok Awards Korea 2025,” held on October 25 at the Hwajeong Gymnasium of Korea University in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
The five members stated:

This award is especially meaningful as it comes from TikTok, a space where you can freely express yourself, just like the title of our debut album, “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES”, which symbolizes breaking the rules and norms of the world. That day, CORTIS performed “Go!” and “Fashion”, lighting up the stage from the moment they appeared under a shower of applause. Their live performance, powerful and perfectly executed, captivated the audience with both singing and dynamic choreography. Even the content creators present at the ceremony joined in by singing and dancing, confirming the group’s popularity. Moving through the audience and climbing on tables to rap with intensity, the members displayed impressive stage confidence for a first-ever awards ceremony.
This award reflects the rapid success of CORTIS on social media. Just one month after opening their TikTok account, they reached the top of the new artists of the year ranking by follower count. As of October 26 at 7 a.m. KST, their account had over 4.84 million followers. The songs “What you want“, “Go!”, and “Fashion”, from their debut album, also achieved huge success as background music and dance challenge tracks on the platform.
Additionally, CORTIS will perform on November 3 at the “NHK MUSIC SPECIAL ‘NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025’” at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Being invited to this event just three days after their debut demonstrates the significant international interest they are generating.
