The group EXO has brought back the superpower universe presented at the time of its debut.
On December 8, EXO released a new teaser on their official YouTube channel. In the video, the members doubt their powers and appear confused, oscillating between reality and dream.
The members are drawn by an unknown force and find themselves once again in front of the Tree of Life. In the last part of the teaser, the title of the 8th full album, “REVERSE”, was revealed.
The new album name was born from a unique expression specific to EXO. Based on the story of their universe, “The day we truly become one, a new world opens”, the English word “Reverse,” meaning “go back,” was reinterpreted in EXO’s style.
EXO began telling stories with a distinct universe since their debut in 2012. Their universe contributed to spreading the trend of narrative universes across the Kpop industry. Last September, they also presented mysterious images evoking a lunar eclipse.
EXO will hold a fanmeeting “EXO’VERSE” on the 14th at 14:00 and 19:00 KST at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon. They will present the songs from the full album for the first time, accompanied by the track “The first snow”, which gains renewed popularity every winter.
EXO plans to release a new album during the first quarter of next year.
