Police have carried out a forced search of singer PSY, who is suspected of having a psychotropic medication picked up on his behalf.

According to police and other sources on Dec. 11, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul conducted a search earlier this month at the offices of P NATION, PSY’s agency, as well as his vehicle, on suspicions of violating medical law.
During the operation, investigators seized PSY’s mobile phone, which is currently undergoing digital analysis, and are examining documents related to remote prescriptions and proxy pickups. A formal summons for questioning is reportedly under review.
PSY is accused of having received prescriptions for a psychotropic drug over a period of about three years, from 2022 until recently, at a general hospital in Seoul without an in-person consultation.
Professor “A,” suspected of issuing a sleeping pill prescription on PSY’s behalf, has been charged with violating medical law and is currently under investigation. “A” reportedly denied the allegations, claiming it was a “remote consultation.”
PSY’s side acknowledged that the medication had indeed been picked up by proxy, while rejecting accusations of a proxy prescription. P NATION stated:
“The fact that the sleeping pill was received by proxy is clearly a mistake and a lapse in judgment. PSY has been diagnosed with a chronic sleep disorder and has taken sleeping medication in accordance with medical staff’s prescriptions. The medication was taken strictly as prescribed under medical supervision, and there was no proxy prescription.”
