BTS has added another 700-million-view music video to its achievements.

The music video for “Permission to dance,” released worldwide in July 2021, surpassed 700 million views on YouTube on Dec. 10 at 5:14 p.m. With this milestone, BTS now holds its tenth music video to exceed 700 million views.
“Permission to dance” is a dance-pop track that delivers the message that “we can dance freely as much as we want, without needing anyone’s permission—just following our hearts,” to anyone who has had a difficult day. Released during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the song brought warm comfort with messages such as “even if things are hard, we can find freedom and happiness through singing and dancing” and “life goes on,” resonating widely with listeners.
Upon release, “Permission to dance” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s main singles chart, the Hot 100, and remained on the chart for seven consecutive weeks. The song also earned a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), awarded to tracks that exceed 500,000 units based on album sales, digital downloads, and weighted streaming.
With the group’s full comeback scheduled for next spring, BTS, by reaffirming its unwavering global popularity, has heightened expectations for the upcoming album and world tour.
