Dancer POPPIN HYUNJOON acknowledged recent accusations of violent remarks and insults made during classes and issued an apology.

On December 13, POPPIN HYUNJOON stated via his social media (SNS):
“As a professor, I present my apology and my position regarding the online controversy related to the practical dance department of Baekseok Arts University.”
He continued with an apology: “As an educator, I created a harsh atmosphere through inappropriate words and behavior, and I deeply reflect on having caused, regardless of my intention, a feeling of sexual humiliation.”
He also stated: “I would like to clarify once again that there was no malicious intent,” adding: “Taking responsibility for this, I resign as of today from my position as a professor in the practical dance department of Baekseok Arts University.”
Previously, on the social network X (formerly Twitter), a person identifying themselves as a student from the practical dance department of Baekseok Arts University, identified as A, posted a message stating: “I am revealing the misconduct that students had to endure from professors during production practice classes.”
A claimed about Professor B: “The most uncomfortable thing was the very frequent use of insults during classes,” adding: “This not only caused a feeling of humiliation as students, but also made the learning atmosphere excessively harsh and oppressive.”
She continued: “There were inappropriate remarks in response to students’ protests,” specifying: “There were minors in this class. Many students felt great shame and deep embarrassment because of these remarks.”
She also claimed that Professor B created a threatening atmosphere by raising his voice and repeatedly making humiliating comments. She added that he allegedly said to students: “This is not your stage, it’s mine,” “I am the director and you are extras,” “Even if you are mediocre, it’s enough that I am good.”
A also criticized the teaching method. She stated: “In a three-hour class, the professor was present in the room for less than an hour,” adding: “From the students’ point of view, this raised the question of whether it was truly a normal class, as there was no pedagogical continuity.”
Subsequently, another internet user left a comment indicating that the identity of Professor B was POPPIN HYUNJOON. In response, POPPIN HYUNJOON issued an apology and resigned from his position as a professor.
