JOOHONEY of MONSTA X has entered the countdown for his solo comeback.
The agency STARSHIP ENTERTAINMENT revealed on December 19, via the official social media of MONSTA X, the release schedule for JOOHONEY’s second mini-album “光 (INSANITY)”. Presented as a vintage poster in red and black tones, this schedule drew attention with its design evoking a boxing ring while heightening anticipation through a content-rich teasing calendar.
Additionally, this visual makes it clear that the sound heard in the previously released “coming soon” video corresponds to the bell signaling the start of a boxing round, hinting at an even more intense and unique concept than before.
According to the released calendar, JOOHONEY will publish the teaser for the pre-release song’s music video on December 21, then release the track the following day, December 22, further fueling excitement ahead of his comeback.
On December 24, the tracklist will heighten anticipation around the new album, followed by the release of concept photos in three versions from December 26 to 28. The revealed titles, “링 위의 호랑이”, “미쳐야 빛난다”, “IN RED”, spark curiosity regarding the concept through which JOOHONEY will develop the story contained in the album.
JOOHONEY will unveil the teaser for the main track’s music video on January 2, starting the new year with energy, before presenting an album preview on January 4, then officially releasing the second mini-album “光 (INSANITY)” on January 5.
“光 (INSANITY)” is an album that boldly highlights the solo artist universe of JOOHONEY. Its title symbolizes the meeting between the “gwang” of madness (狂) and the “gwang” of light (光), tracing the story of the collision between impulse and passion of a young man discovering music and the weight of being an artist on stage, ultimately merging into a single light.
Through this album, JOOHONEY intends to establish an independent musical universe of his own, building on the solid foundations he has constructed through performance, rap, singing, and production. It is his first solo album approximately two years and eight months after the mini-album “LIGHTS”, released in May 2023, attracting even more attention to the evolution of his music.
Moreover, while MONSTA X, the group to which JOOHONEY belongs, continued various musical experiments with the mini-album “THE X” in September and the American digital single “BABY BLUE” in November, expectations also grow for the album that JOOHONEY will present as a solo artist.
Finally, JOOHONEY will release his second mini-album “光 (INSANITY)” on January 5 at 18:00 KST and will officially begin his comeback activities.
