JOOHONEY : Between worker and artist on stage

JOOHONEY of MONSTA X has intensified comeback excitement with concept photos featuring a bold style.

STARSHIP ENTERTAINMENT released, on December 27 via MONSTA X’s official SNS, the concept photos for JOOHONEY’s second mini-album, “光 (INSANITY)”, which is scheduled for release on January 5.

In the revealed photos, JOOHONEY appears at times immersed in his musical work inside a room, and at other times absorbed in his thoughts, embodying the portrait of a passionate young man. Objects such as a keyboard, headphones, and a bed harmonize with his natural expressions to represent the moment when pure devotion to music is born, drawing attention.

Meanwhile, other photos released simultaneously exude the aura of an artist on stage. Holding a microphone in front of lights and speakers, JOOHONEY stares intensely into the camera and dominates the stage. This atmosphere, contrasted with that of the young man shown earlier, symbolizes the album’s narrative, in which the impulse and passion of a young man discovering music collide with the weight of the artist on stage, before ultimately merging into a single light.

JOOHONEY’s new album, “光 (INSANITY)”, set to be released on January 5, is a solo album unveiled approximately two years and eight months after the release of his first mini-album “LIGHTS” in May 2023. Through this album, JOOHONEY plans to prove his solid skills encompassing the roles of rapper, vocalist, producer, and director, while further solidifying his unique and distinctive musical universe.

After announcing a musical expansion with the release of the pre-release track “Push (feat. Rei of IVE)” on December 22, the publication of the tracklist further intensified excitement surrounding his comeback. JOOHONEY participated in lyric writing, composition, and production of all seven tracks on the album, reinforcing its completeness and sincerity, while a lineup of featuring artists bringing together REI, TIGER JK, and MUHAMMAD ALI, transcending genres and eras, has raised high expectations. Among them, the title track “Sting (feat. Muhammad Ali)”, which runs through the entire album narrative, announces the participation of the legendary boxer MUHAMMAD ALI, sparking curiosity among music fans.
