PARK YOOCHUN, currently active in Japan, expressed his feelings regarding rumors.
On January 22, PARK YOOCHUN posted on his Japanese SNS: “There are too many rumors that I never thought of nor ever said,” expressing his frustration. He added: “I heard it for the first time today and was shocked,” before asking: “I hope you only believe what I say myself.”
The exact reason why PARK YOOCHUN posted this message has not been confirmed. However, claims have emerged suggesting that during the deposition process following the arrest of his ex-fiancée HWANG HANA for violating the Narcotics Control Act, the names of certain celebrities were mentioned. In this context of multiple speculations, this message drew public attention.
Previously, HWANG HANA was arrested on the 20th by the Anyang office of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office for violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances). PARK YOOCHUN had been charged in 2019 for drug use with HWANG HANA and was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation.
At the time, he held a press conference to proclaim his innocence, stating: “If I took drugs, I will retire from the entertainment industry.” However, the analysis results from the National Forensic Service were positive, and the charges were upheld.
After announcing his retirement, PARK YOOCHUN reversed his decision and continued his activities primarily abroad. In Korea, his activities are virtually halted due to exclusive contract disputes and repeated significant tax controversies.
