FANTAGIO has issued a statement regarding the tax controversy involving its artist CHA EUN WOO.

On January 27, FANTAGIO stated: “We apologize to everyone who has been concerned by the various situations related to our agency and CHA EUN WOO. We feel a heavy responsibility for the emergence of this controversy.”
The agency added: “Currently, the facts are under verification according to the procedures of the tax authorities, and we are fully cooperating within the necessary limits. If legal or administrative decisions become clear, we will take the required measures responsibly.”
Requesting that speculation and excessive interpretations be limited, FANTAGIO indicated: “We will use this situation to review our artist management system and will do our best to prevent similar controversies from reoccurring in the future.”
Meanwhile, CHA EUN WOO was subject to an in-depth tax investigation by the 4th Investigation Bureau of the Seoul Regional Tax Office in the first half of last year for suspected tax fraud. The bureau reportedly notified a tax recovery exceeding approximately 20 billion won.
