WINNER - SONG MINHO
The singer SONG MINO was involved in a breach of his civil service obligations.

According to an article published on February 11 by the media outlet JoongAng Ilbo, the indictment from the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office states that SONG MINO was absent without authorization for a total of 102 days while assigned to the Seoul Mapo District Facilities Management Corporation and resident welfare facilities.
The total civil service period of approximately 1 year and 9 months included 430 effective working days, meaning he missed about a quarter of his service days. SONG MINO’s absenteeism intensified as the end of his assignment period approached, with sometimes only 4 days of attendance in a single month.
These repeated absences were made possible through the complicity of a supervisor, “A”, who approved his absences and falsified official documents. For example, on May 30, 2023, although SONG MINO had traveled to the United States on May 29 for his sister’s wedding, the records indicated that he had been present at work.
The prosecution has objective evidence confirming collusion between SONG MINO and the supervisor, and both are being prosecuted for violating the Military Service Act. The first hearing was initially scheduled for March 24 but was postponed to April 21 by the Seoul Western District Court.
According to Article 89-2 of the Military Service Act, anyone absent without valid reason for 8 days or more may be punished with up to three years of imprisonment.
