YG ENTERTAINMENT has revealed concrete plans regarding the debut of a new boy group.

YG ENTERTAINMENT published “BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT” on its official blog on April 30. Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK presented YG‘s main projects planned for the second half of this year.
Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK stated: “In the previous interview, I mentioned via subtitles the project to launch a new YG male group this fall,” adding: “According to current forecasts, I plan to present the new YG male group in September. The number of members is 5.” As YG‘s first boy group in 6 years, the 5-member composition stands out from that of TREASURE, which operates with a large number of members.
Additionally, YANG HYUN SUK indicated: “I will sequentially reveal the new IPs and rookies that YG is planning,” suggesting that YG‘s rookie line-up will be established alongside the upcoming girl group “NEXT MONSTER” (provisional name), which had already caused a stir.
This year, YG announced it is successively leading major projects such as the release of new albums from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE accompanied by intense global activities, as well as holding a BIGBANG world tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary. In addition to the dynamic activities of existing artists, this is expected to mark a turning point with the appearance of a rookie group that will lead the future of YG.
