The group POW unveils its new song “Why”, marking the start of its own musical experimentation project, “THE DEMO TAPE”.
POW is launching into a true musical experimentation by presenting “Why”, the first track of “THE DEMO TAPE #1”, this May 5 at 6 p.m. KST. This project is a work where the members transpose into music the emotions and thoughts captured in their daily lives. The objective is to expand the team’s creative capacities while conveying a more sincere message.
“Why” is an R&B soul genre song, which takes on full meaning as member JUNGBIN wrote the lyrics and composed it. It is characterized by the delicate capture of subtle emotions that bloom in moments that might seem trivial. It is expected to evoke empathy by honestly expressing growing feelings and confusion within a relationship that is difficult to define.
Regarding the occasion for working on this song, JUNGBIN stated: “I put in the feelings that came to me seeing two people in front of the school, where you couldn’t tell if they were joking or if they were serious. I wanted to express that heart which continues to be preoccupied even if one tries to ignore it, and the complex emotions shaken by the other’s actions.” He added, expressing his wish: “I am nervous but also impatient to be the first member to present a song in this personal composition project. I hope the fans will like it.”
The “THE DEMO TAPE” project will follow a method of organizing listening sessions to appreciate together the stories of each member translated into music, with the plan to transmit comfort and empathy to listeners by unveiling, song after song, minor but lasting emotions.
Previously, following the activities for “Come true” at the beginning of this year, POW has reinforced its status as a “growing all-rounder” through this project, with all members participating in the processes of writing lyrics and composing.
