“To say I would want to relive that, it was far too relentless…”

The singer-songwriter ROY KIM conveys emotion through a musical confession that connects the “current self” and “past time” via a cover album.
Before the release of his cover album “BLOOM AGAIN” on May 20 at 6 p.m. KST, ROY KIM published an introductory text he wrote himself, further strengthening the sincerity of the work. In particular, this text was revealed in the form of a handwritten drawing, vividly conveying a deepened sensibility and personal narrative.
This album was designed with the concept: “For you who have become adults, today blunted under the name of adult, in search of my forgotten romanticism.” The starting point revealed by ROY KIM is a reflection on “time” and “growth.” The introductory text, beginning with the phrase “The world looked at with clear eyes, more than green, seemed like it should always be just right,” calmly exposes the gap felt between the innocence of the past and the reality of the present.
He continues with a confession: “The current picture, filled with decisions to protect today’s life with a certain amount of compromise and experience, makes me sad because I wonder if it is not the nostalgic sigh of a coward having taken on the appearance of wisdom,” delicately revealing the complex emotions encountered while becoming an adult.
Furthermore, ROY KIM stated: “I designed this cover album to face again in music those times that seem more beautiful because we cannot go back to them, that past which was too relentless to be relived.” ROY KIM confessed his desire to share this with fans through music containing his own story, saying: “I hope that your image, which had quietly curled up, will now sing with me.”
The album contains a total of 6 songs, starting with “앵콜요청금지” (No Encores Requested) which carries the message “what cannot be done, cannot be done,” to the final track “바람의 노래” (Song of the Wind) which conveys the message that what ultimately remains, following various emotions such as joy, sadness, gratitude, and nostalgia, is love. ROY KIM personally explained the meaning of each track, looking back once more at “the reason why his current self is singing again.”
On the other hand, ROY KIM is expanding his points of contact with fans through various stages in addition to his musical activities, raising expectations regarding his ability to once again evoke empathy through a deepened sensibility and a sincere message across this album.
