SEVENTEEN - HOSHI
The generous gesture of HOSHI (Kwon Soon Young), a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN, has provided a new place of learning for children in Zambia.

The Community Chest of Korea stated on June 15 that the classroom construction project for a public school in the Zambia region, carried out through the donation of HOSHI, was completed, thereby providing a new place of learning for approximately 250 local children.
This project was carried out thanks to a donation of 100 million won (approximately 58,000 euros) delivered by HOSHI last year through the Gyeonggi Northern Fruit of Love. According to the Community Chest of Korea, the beneficiary school of the project is a public school where around 250 children from kindergarten to 7th grade study, and which was previously in a poor educational environment with only two classrooms, forcing multiple grade levels to take classes in the same space.
Thanks to this support, five classrooms spread across a total of two buildings as well as restrooms were newly constructed, and the renovation of existing school facilities was also carried out at the same time. Students, who had to take classes in the same space due to the lack of classrooms, can now study in a larger and more comfortable environment.
In addition to this, meticulous support for improving the living environment of children was also provided, notably through the repair of dilapidated facilities and electrical work targeting a child protection center located in Kitwe, a city in northern Zambia.
HOSHI stated:
“It is with the hope that children can learn and grow in a better environment that I participated in this. I am very happy to think of the children who will develop their dreams in these new classrooms, and I wish to continue to show interest in places that need help in the future.”
Furthermore, HOSHI has been practicing sharing consistently since he joined the Honor Society club in 2021, a group of high-value individual donors of the Fruit of Love.
In 2024, he donated 100 million won for the construction of the national school for orphans in Laos, and last May, he made a donation to the love fund for battle comrades dedicated to the nation of the Army. In addition, he continues his sharing for underprivileged neighbors in Korea and abroad, notably through donations of funds for cadets from his former school and his hometown region, book donations for the Lee Seok-young New Media Library, and donations of charcoal briquettes.
