The group BTS has presented a new music video.
BTS unveiled by surprise the music video for the song “Merry go round”, a track from their 5th regular album “ARIRANG”, on the 19th at 6 PM. This music video was produced through a special collaboration with the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, and can be discovered exclusively only via the said platform.
“Merry go round”, a track from the new album, is a song that deals with our story, we who silently endure and live in the midst of the difficult cycle of life that repeats every day, just like the nature of a merry-go-round that turns without ever stopping. The music video which lifted the veil this time visually materializes to perfection the deep message of this song by using a sensory black and white visual beauty as well as various symbolic objects, leaving a deep impression.
In the unveiled video, the complete narrative develops as the members of BTS, who were each living their lives busily, gather one by one as if by fate in the same space.
The members cross different moments of memories to finally stop in a single place, and verify that they are solidly connected again by sharing without hesitation the many stories they had accumulated in their hearts during this time. At the end of the video, a staging with a twist appears. The space where the members gathered to talk reveals itself in a fantastic way as being not a simple building, but a gigantic merry-go-round floating alone in the air.
The music video ends by illuminating the overall view of the merry-go-round that turns endlessly as if it were floating alone on a vast sea, beautifully completing the great narrative of BTS which advances firmly in its own way in the midst of the cycle of time that turns to infinity.
Particularly, this music video arouses a poignant emotion among ARMY, due to the fact that it modernly reinterprets the “merry-go-round”, which was a key object that appeared in the music video for “Spring day” released in 2017 and having recorded a global mega-hit.
Furthermore, BTS plans to pursue a very large world tour through a total of 88 performances in 34 regions around the world.
