The interest of foreign media for PICHEOLIN, the “second character” of DINO of SEVENTEEN, is increasing.
DINO‘s second character, PICHEOLIN, is a CEO who manages a music agency as well as a producer full of affection and enthusiasm, and PICHEOLIN‘s 1st mini-album, “GILBOARD”, is an album that expresses music of various genres such as EDM trap, city pop and new jack swing with the sensibility of Korean enthusiasm. The second character, born from a sketch, expanded into a musical character.
The British magazine specialized in music and fashion CLASH presented PICHEOLIN, in a recently published article, as “a character born from entertainment originally, but having become in the meantime inseparable from DINO’s musical activities”. This is interpreted as a positive evaluation of the musical attempts of the 1st mini-album “GILBOARD”, which harmonizes the past and the present. The media conveyed: “This new opus is an album that shows the attitude of DINO, who does not fear artistic challenges, as well as a work that allows a look at the era when street music culture was lively.”
The American media specialized in music GENIUS highlighted the unique concept peculiar to “GILBOARD” through an article titled “DINO entered the “PICHEOLIN era””. GENIUS explained by mentioning the included song “정으로 사랑으로”: ““JEONG” is a word meaning deep affection in Korean, and DINO was inspired by this expression to bring comfort with a warm rhythm and melody.” Regarding the sensibility of enthusiasm that runs through the album, certain media interpreted it as “a Korean concept expressing joy and fervor” (ABS-CBN), or “an explosive excitement and a festive energy” (ESQUIRE PHILIPPINES).
The activities of DINO, oscillating between the “main character” and the “second character”, continue. He will appear as PICHEOLIN on August 14 in the original content “STAN [SEVENTEEN]” on HYBE‘s podcast channel STAN:A. From August 21 to 23, he will organize “2026 DINO X PICHEOLIN [GILBOARD SHOW]” at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in the Songpa district in Seoul and will present varied stages.
