Singer MARK (Mark Lee), former member of the group NCT, presents his first new song since stepping out as a soloist.

His agency Upper Room declared on September 2: “MARK will release his new song “My friend” next September 10 at 1:00 p.m. KST on domestic and international music sites”.
On that day, MARK also unveiled the music video teaser for “My friend” via Upper Room’s official channel. The video contains the image of MARK moving forward silently toward his next step amid a landscape of melancholy youth. In the second part of the video, the image of MARK throwing off his outerwear to run without hesitation and a standing silhouette in front of bright flames appear, increasing curiosity for the new song.
This new song is the first music that MARK presents after declaring he is stepping out as a soloist. In April of this year, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his debut, MARK ended his contract with SM Entertainment and left NCT. He then founded his personal label Upper Room and embarked on independent activities.
After debuting in 2016 in NCT U, MARK conducted activities in NCT 127, NCT DREAM, etc., establishing himself as a major member of NCT. As a solo artist as well, he showed his musical capabilities by notably releasing “1999”.
Recently, he communicates with fans in an independent way, notably by opening the fan communication platform Laylo. Laylo recorded about 42,000 subscriptions and messages in just 1 hour after its opening.
