While KIM GEONWOO, a member of the group ALPHA DRIVE ONE, has filed a lawsuit against his agency WAKEONE, the latter has expressed its position.
On October 25, the agency WAKEONE stated on its official social networks: “We developed various options, including a precise timeline and contents, and pursued discussions regarding the direction of KIM GEONWOO’s future activities. However, differences in opinion emerged during the adjustment process of his future activities, which led to the initiation of legal proceedings”.
According to the music industry, KIM GEONWOO recently filed an application for confirmation of status in court against WAKEONE. This step is interpreted as aiming to reaffirm his status as a member of ALPHA DRIVE ONE while demanding the resumption of his activities.
Regarding this matter, the agency bowed its head, stating: “We deeply regret and apologize for causing concern and fatigue to the fans”, adding: “We will sincerely respond to this case in accordance with established procedures”.
The direction of future activities was also addressed. According to the agency, ALPHA DRIVE ONE will pursue its scheduled activities as 7 members, as before. The agency added: “We will offer our support so that the 7 members can focus on music and the stage in a stable environment, while continuing to communicate regarding KIM GEONWOO’s future artistic activities. We will do our best in the future so that all our affiliated artists can evolve in a serene setting”.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE is a group formed last year through Mnet’s reality show “Boys II Planet”. Prior to his debut, KIM GEONWOO sparked controversy by making inappropriate remarks toward staff members during a content shoot. KIM GEONWOO apologized, stating: “I am sorry for disappointing everyone due to immature behavior”, and subsequently suspended his activities last April.
