Following the release of his eponymous solo album “Kwon Ji Yong“, in June, G-Dragon announced a world tour. And it was with great joy that his European fans learned that he will stop on their continent, for the very first time, with no less than 5 dates: Birmingham, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin. The KSTATION TV team had the pleasure of attending the Paris date, on September 28th, here are our impressions.

Since the evening before, many fans from all over the world were already waiting outside the doors of the Accord Hotel Arena, in order to have the best seats at the first French concert of the BIGBANG leader. And, despite a rather mixed Parisian weather, they did not give up.
At 6pm, the doors opened and the public began to gather in the hall of the venue. However, due to a small delay, the fans have had to wait until 6:45pm before entering the room.
Slowly, the stands and the pit filled up and it was a rather varied public that one could meet. Around 8:30pm, the lights went out and left room for the introduction video of the concert. The audience started to scream, since the time they had been waiting for this, and the show began…

The lightsticks turned on, the room lit up in the colors of the BIGBANG crown. An always impressive sight showing the tradition of Korean concerts.
G-Dragon appeared in the middle of the luminous screens on his title “HEARTBREAKER“, under the shouts and the acclamation of the public. It was then a charismatic artist, accompanied by his dancers and the musicians of The Band Six, who took possession of the Parisian stage. The singer introduced himself to the public under his real name, Kwon Ji Yong, before continuing the concert with the song “A BOY“.
The performances went on and “GD“, as some fans like to call him, showed us all his showman talent, whether it was on ballads like “BLACK” or on his crazier titles such as “CRAYON“. He successfully carried us away with him through his hits and reminded us at the same time why he can be considered, at the moment, as one of the most influential Korean artists of his generation. Far from the Korean boy bands’ performances, but equally effective with the public, Kwon Ji Yong succeeded in conquering the Parisian audience without a doubt.
One of the main themes of the concert was G-Dragon‘s need to find himself and to be recognized as “Kwon Ji Yong“, he offered us beautiful moments of emotion with messages from his friends and his family, but also with a video of him alone, facing the camera, where we discover a young man who seeks himself, but who does not deny what he has lived, nor the image he gives.
Nevertheless, he did not forget the pleasure of his fans and used all his charms to make this evening an unforgettable moment for his audience. And, what could be better for the happiness of the young ladies present, than good moments of Fan service? Open shirt, thank you speech or, at the end of the concert, a small walk in the pit to say goodbye to his fans on his last song “Untitled 2014“. G-Dragon gave himself to the end.
In short, a successful evening that will mark the spirits of the French public, happy to finally see on stage one of the most appreciated and known artists of the Korean music scene, before his departure to the army.
