This is very sad news in the world of Kpop, singer JONGHYUN of group SHINEE died today, December 18, in South Korea.
JONGHYUN (27, Kim Jong Hyeon), of the idol group SHINEE, died on December 18, 2017. Found unconscious in a hotel room in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-ku, Seoul, he was transported to the hospital but unfortunately died en route.
According to the police, JONGHYUN‘s sister called at 4:42 pm today, saying “it seems like my brother is going to kill himself“. The singer’s sister had received rather devastating messages from him, such as “I suffered“, “Please, let me go. Please tell me that I did a good job” and “goodbye” just before she called the police.
Police sought to locate where JONGHYUN was before finding him at the hotel at 6:10 pm and transporting him to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. When they found him, he was already in cardiac arrest. Despite cardiopulmonary resuscitation, he remained unconscious.
On the day of his arrival at the hotel at noon, he had said he would stay two nights.
As smoking coal briquettes were found in the hotel room, the police presume that he tried to commit suicide. Nevertheless, the whole story of this tragic affair is under investigation.
Group SHINEE debuted in May 2008 with the song “Replay” under SM Entertainment. Composed of 5 members, Onew, Taemin, Minho, Key and Jonghyun, the group was going to celebrate its 10 years of career this year.
