The 37-year-old singer was diagnosed infected on April 1st and has since been isolated in a medical center in Seoul, according to the Seocho district.
Raising fears that the bar in Yeoksam-dong, in the south of Seoul, potentially becoming an infectious cluster, the sick employee would have worked between March 27th and 28th.
It is believed that she was in contact with some 500 staff members and clients combined during her working time and first showed symptoms of the virus the next day.
Her roommate was also confirmed to COVID-19 earlier in the week, according to the Gangnam District.
Gangnam District said it was cutting staff and customers who were present at the site with the infected employee.
YOON HAK‘s agency claimed that he had not visited the bar and briefly met with the sick employee outside the site on March 26th before he was confirmed with COVID-19, refuting the nickname of the singer as “virus spreader”.
Health officials and Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun have repeatedly urged young Koreans not to visit clubs and bars, as crowded places are prone to spreading the virus.
One in four entertainment companies in the nightlife industry would violate government guidelines on social distancing between March 22nd and April 5th, authorities will focus their inspections on nightclubs and entertainment venues between 11 pm and 4 am, according to the headquarters of disaster and security countermeasures.
