Group TWICE established its ninth consecutive platinum milestone with its second Japanese album “& TWICE“.

TWICE‘s second album “& TWICE”, released in Japan on November 20 of last year, received Platinum Record certification from the local record association on April 10th. Platinum is awarded to works that have recorded more than 250,000 sales. As a result, TWICE won Platinum certification for the nine albums released in Japan.
From the first Japanese album “#TWICE” released in June 2017, the first single in October “One More Time“, “Candy Pop” in February 2018, “Wake Me Up” the third single album, “BDZ” in September, “# TWICE2” the second album, in July 2019 “Happy happy“, the fifth single “Breakthrough” and finally “& TWICE“, a set of successes.
Among them, “WAKE ME UP” is the first album by a foreign artist released in Japan to be recognized for its double platinum certification, having recorded cumulative sales of more than 500,000 copies.
Giving TWICE its ninth platinum certification, “& TWICE” surpassed the weekly album charts in the Oricon during the first week of its release. It was the fifth time in its career that the group had equaled with world-renowned pop star Mariah Carey in “The Number of Works that Win the First Place in Overseas Female Artist Albums“. The group was also noticed by the “Hot Albums” and “Top Albums Sales” rankings of Billboard Japan, as well as by the 100 best weekly rankings of the Japanese line.
TWICE will be the first group of K-pop girls to present their original YouTube series “TWICE: Seize the Light“.
The nine members will show a variety of aspects ranging from their days of trainees to their intense evolution, challenges … showing the front, the during and the future of the group.
