Girls’ group AOA, which has been involved in a controversy over the bullying of former members, will not be on the festival scene where it was to appear.

The agency FNC Entertainment announced on June 6th that it had decided not to appear at the “Wonder Woman Festival 2020“, the group AOA, in September, after consulting the organizer.
The decision was made after AOA‘s former member KWON MINA, who left the group, claimed that she had been intimidated by leader JIMIN during group activities.
The harassment controversy appears to have impacted AOA‘s activities.
KWON MINA revealed on her social media on June 3rd that she left AOA because of JIMIN and even tried to make an “extreme choice”.
The same day, JIMIN went to KWON MINA to apologize and posted an apology on social media, but public criticism didn’t subside. In the end, JIMIN decided to leave AOA and to cease her entertainment activities.
AOA originally with eight members, making its debut in 2012, was reorganized into a group of five members last year while YOOKYUNG, CHOA and MINA left the group one after the other.
Last year, the group tried to be active in the program “Queendom” of Mnet and released an album, but as JIMIN leaves the group in turn, only four members, YUNA, HYEJEONG, SEOLHYUN and CHANMI, are still present.
Some observers say that the outlook for the group’s future activities is uncertain, as it has been found that the long-standing relationship within the group is no longer the same and that public opinion on AOA and its agency FNC Entertainment has become cold.
