The group NCT DREAM has ramped up anticipation around their comeback thanks to a trailer featuring an amusing plot twist.
Their agency SM ENTERTAINMENT released the trailer “EP.2 Boogie Woogie” for their sixth studio album “DREAM AFTER DREAM” on November 4 via NCT DREAM’s official YouTube channel.
This new episode depicts NCT DREAM embarking on a large-scale operation to catch a thief. Unlike the first video, which displayed a joyful atmosphere, the members sensually unfolded tension stemming from an unexpected plot twist encountered during the operation.
In the trailer, NCT DREAM demonstrates perfect teamwork to retrace the criminal’s steps, elude the police, and infiltrate a warehouse. However, at the end of an intense chase, they face the unexpected outcome where the thief’s identity turns out to be a dog, thus providing a moment of laughter.
In this trailer, highlight snippets of included songs with various charms, such as “Cool for me”, “Pressure”, and “Watch U watch me”, blend together to heighten immersion, while at the end of the video, a catchy ending is marked by the members getting carried away by the rhythm of the title track “Boogie Woogie”.
The song “Cool for me” is an R&B hip-hop track distinguished by a matured vibe and a relaxed groove, containing deep devotion toward a loved one. “Pressure” is an electronic house song where heavy drums and tribal sounds mingle, expressing the boldness of pushing past limits to advance toward new dreams.
“Watch U watch me” is a dance song impressive for its intense synthesizers and addictive chorus, integrating into its lyrics an assured confidence in the face of the gaze that the other person casts upon oneself.
The title track “Boogie Woogie” is a dance song based on 1970s disco-funk. It carries the message of celebrating NCT DREAM’s past 10 years and enjoying the moments to come together.
NCT DREAM will release their sixth studio album “DREAM AFTER DREAM” on November 9 at 6:00 PM KST.
