TREASURE - "BOY"
On August 7th, TREASURE, the new group from YG Entertainment, made its debut with its debut single album “THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE” and their title track “BOY“.

As for the song itself, the fans were already aware without knowing it of the beginning of the chorus, mainly instrumental, and therefore of its content, marked by a catchy tempo. In the end, it was the verses that created the surprise. Softer, fresh and melodious, they highlight the vocal abilities of the group’s vocalists and create a real contrast with the chorus. This gives a good, precisely dosed mixture which allows the members to reveal various faculties.
The song is about a boy’s love for a girl he cherishes like treasure and whose heart he wants to open to slip into. In this regard, we finally understand the meaning of JUNKYU’s words in the trailer dedicated to the choreography posted on August 5th. Indeed, he revealed to us without saying it a major line of the lyrics: “Everyone, please open your hearts” (in the song “Open your heart please”).
TREASURE : A powerful choreography for « BOY »
The choreography is characterized as expected by the power. The fact that TREASURE has many members helps to maximize the overall effect and makes their synchronization even more impressive, something less evident among their elders at YG Entertainment who have a maximum of seven members. It can also be noted that their formation takes the shape of a solid triangle on numerous occasions, in reference to their logo which is a diamond. This ingenious process stands out very well.
In summary, the performance of the group is explosive and on a level equivalent to the performances of groups with more experience. The twelve members – HYUNSUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, JAEHYUK, ASAHI, YEDAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, JEONGWOO and JUNGHWAN – surprise us with their synchronization, their energy and the maturity they demonstrate for novices. Beyond the large means spent by their agency YG Entertainment for this MV, we can see the real work they have done to offer such a result. They all have beautiful expressions that catch the eye. Charismatic, energetic, radiant, they exude youth and the desire to go far. This is only the beginning and but it is very promising and they have probably not finished surprising us.
TREASURE is releasing the physical version of its first single album on August 13th, but “BOY” and “Come to me” are already available on various musical platforms. Pre-orders for this album have already reached record numbers while they are still open and the band are already among those who have sold the most copies of its debut album in K-POP history.
