WONHO is back as a solo artist. The style of music has changed, but the unique sensuality remains.
WONHO released his debut mini-album “Love Synonym # 1: Light for me” and the title track “Open mind” across the world at 1pm on September 4th.
“Love Synonym #1: Light for me” is an album that marks a new debut for solo artist WONHO. WONHO, who previously captivated fans around the world with his powerful performance as a member of MONSTA X, showed off a new look as a solo artist through this album.
The title song “Open mind” is an electronic pop song with a rhythmic and dreamlike atmosphere. The heavy base and the ever-growing composition exchange freedom and tension. WONHO‘s delicate voice sports a sophisticated feeling.
온몸이 짜릿해지게
더 새로운 세상을 줄게
Don’t u want somethin’ different?
Ooooo aaaaaa
You don’t have to love me
Ooooo aaaaaa
Cause we want the same thing
상상하지 마 완전 다를 테니까
오늘 밤은
Keep an open mind girl
처음 느끼는 감각을 전부 깨워
넌 다시 태어나게 돼 지금부턴
나란 세곌 감당 하고 난 뒤엔 Yeah
넌 중독될 거야 내게 장담할게
WONHO helped write the lyrics himself, adding a bit more sincerity. In the lyrics you can feel WONHO‘s ambition to show a new side of him as a solo artist.
Previously, WONHO pre-released the sweet R&B pop song “Losing you“, reaching out to fans waiting for it, along with sweet R&B pop music. The sensuality of “Open mind” is present, and it is accentuated while remaining refined.
As this is the very carefully prepared debut album, each song including the title song and the pre-released song can make you feel the different charms of WONHO. Eight varied songs, including “Lost in paradise“, clearly reflect his musical sensibility.
Prior to his solo career, WONHO signed a contract with Maverick, a famous American management company, to advertise his global business. Singer WONHO, who has returned to his new form, is preparing his second act.
