Rapper IRON (real name Jeong Heon-cheol, 28), who was the runner-up for Mnet’s hip-hop survival program, “Show Me The Money Season 3“, was found dead on January 25th.

According to police and others, a security guard found IRON lying bleeding in a flower bed of a building in Jung-gu, Seoul at 10:25 am and reported it. The young man was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the death from people around the place where the artist was found.
IRON emerged as a promising rapper finishing runner-up on “Show Me the Money 3” in 2014, but has been involved in various incidents and rumors in recent years.
He also briefly worked with Big Hit Entertainment before appearing on “Show Me the Money 3“, and signed an exclusive deal with Polaris Entertainment in 2014 to release his digital single “Blue“. However, he terminated his contract with Polaris Entertainment in 2015 and was sentenced to eight months in prison, with a two-year conditional sentence, for smoking marijuana the following year. In September of the same year, he released his album “ROCK BOTTOM“, but has not released any new songs since.
In 2017, he was indicted for assaulting his girlfriend repeatedly for refusing to comply with her demands and was sentenced to eight months in prison, two years suspended and 80 hours of community service .
He also expressed his willingness to work on music on social media in September of last year, saying, “I have time to reflect and look back on my life for four years after the release of ‘Rock Bottom“.
However, he was investigated again in December last year for assaulting a teenager who was learning music with a baseball bat.
