LUCAS joined NCT in 2018, with the title song “Boss”, one of the songs featured as part of the NCT 2018 project, a project that aimed to bring together all the sub-units to make a single album. This project was resumed last year, with NCT 2020 and the arrival of two new members at the same time: SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO.

HENDERY officially joined NCT the same year, in July. He was one of three new members along with YANGYANG and XIAOJUN. He first started his activity as a Chinese member in WAYV, before joining the NCT 2020 project.
