While singer KIM SAMUEL has won the first lawsuit for the invalidation of the exclusive contract with Brave Entertainment, the agency plans to appeal.

On November 17th, a Brave Entertainment official told News 1, regarding the outcome of the trial: “It is difficult to give a specific answer as we do not yet have confirmation of the judgment, but we will consider an appeal. ”
On the same day, the 25th Civil Agreements Division (Deputy Judge Lee Kwan Yong) of Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit brought by KIM SAMUEL against Brave Entertainment, stating “Confirm that the exclusive contract is invalid. ”
The court said:
“We confirm that the exclusive contract signed in June 2014 between the plaintiff and the defendant does not exist.”
In May 2019, KIM SAMUEL filed a complaint against his agency to confirm the absence of an exclusivity contract, claiming that there was a problem in the process of signing and settling performance contracts. Brave Entertainment confronted KIM SAMUEL in filing a lawsuit for damages worth one billion won, claiming that the company suffered damages by unilaterally refusing certain programs without justifiable reason.
On the same day, the court ruled in favor of KIM SAMUEL and said it would deny the claim filed by Brave Entertainment. In response, KIM SAMUEL expressed his feelings on his social media, saying:
