The singer JENNIE of the group BLACKPINK will release the song “Someone to hold” from the Netflix animated film “Steps” this 6th at 2:00 PM, announced her agency OA ENTERTAINMENT.
“Steps” is an action comedy that reimagines the fairy tale “Cinderella” from the perspective of the stepsister Lilith. Netflix will unveil the film on November 20.
“Someone to hold” is a ballad depicting the bond of solidarity between sisters, used during the film’s climax scene. Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, and Jason Evigan composed the track. Even before its official release, the song was nominated in the “Animated Film Song” category at this year’s Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
JENNIE stated: “I really enjoyed working on my first song for an animated film”, adding “I really liked the warm heart and personality that the characters have, and I was happy to be able to walk a little way in their world.”
JENNIE remained in the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard’s main singles chart “Hot 100” for 23 weeks with “Dracula”, a collaboration with Tame Impala. Last August, she released the digital mini-album “FALLEN ANGEL”.
