The Korea Hip-hop Awards, Korea’s only genre music awards ceremony, will announce the opening.

The “Korean Hip-hop Awards” (hereafter referred to as “KHA 2022”) is a project jointly organized by Hiphopplaya and Hiphople, two media representing Korean hip-hop, and will be held for the sixth time this year. They will highlight performances from the hip-hop and R&B genres for black music works and artists in Korea, which were released from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
KHA 2022, which will take place from January 4 to 10, consists of a total of 10 categories, including “Artist of the Year”. In order to establish fairness and diversity, the results of the Internet users vote and the results of the selection committee vote will be combined in a ratio of 5:5 to determine the final winner. Unlike last year, in addition to music critics and media experts, experts from various fields such as labels, A&R and video directors joined the selection committee. Internet users’ votes will take place from January 18 to 31, when the candidate recommendation will be completed.
In “KHA 2021” last year, Park Jae Beom won three medaphors, including “Artist of the Year”, “Label of the Year” and “Music Video of the Year”. A total of 11 awards were presented, including “Rookie Artist of the Year” for HOMIES and “Hip-Hop Album of the Year” for Billstax “DETOX”.
The awards for “KHA 2022” will take place between February and March 2022 and will be streamed live online this year due to COVID-19 which has persisted since last year.
