BIG BANG: Domination over time

The BIG BANG group swept the national music market with their first digital single “STILL LIFE” released after about four years, showing their unwavering presence.

According to the Gaon Chart announcement released by the Korea Music Contents Association on May 12, BIG BANG‘s single “STILL LIFE” topped the digital category in April.

Gaon Digital Chart integrates and aggregates BGM streaming, download and sales weighted data to arrive at a final ranking. Chart-related data collected from Gaon Chart is considered Korea’s main chart, accounting for more than 97% of music sales consumed in Korea.

On this chart, BIG BANG took the throne and confirmed as the strongest player in the music market in April this year. In fact, “STILL LIFE“, which was released on the 5th of last month, briefly ranked second in the 17th week of the year after topping the Gaon Digital Weekly Chart in the 15th and 16th weeks of 2022, but ended up reclaiming the top spot in week 18.

In particular, the song topped the top 100 24 Hits of Melon, the biggest market share in the domestic music market, for a total of 35 days. Before that, “Perfect All-Kill” was a natural governor for major music sites like Genie, Bugs, Vibe, and Flo.

It was also well received overseas and performed well. “STILL LIFE” has proven to gain popularity in the mainstream pop market by dominating both the global iTunes chart and topping the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Charts in the United States.

STILL LIFE” is a song that expresses past milestones, worries, present and future of BIG BANG. Beautiful melodies, song lyrics with poetic metaphors and stories full of sincerity.
