Confirmed on the page YG FAMILY, the agency YG ENTERTAINMENT announced this Friday, December 30, 2022 that the group iKON will not renew its contract with it.

“Hello. this is YG Entertainment.
We would like to announce that after a long and careful discussion with iKON (JAY, BOBBY, SONG, JU-NE, DK & CHAN), we all mutually agreed to end the exclusive management contract in respect of each other’s opinion.
Apart from the end of the contract, all six members will act as a group : iKON. In addition, iKON will continuously interact with fans through their official channels including Weverse, the fan community service, as usual.
We would like to expresse sincere appreciation to iKON for being with us as YG artist.
YG Entertainment will always look forward to their actvities in diverse fields and wish the best for the members in the future.Also, we would like to deeply thank all iKONIC to accompagnying iKON on their journey.
Please keep giving warm attention and support to iKON members who are about to start a new phase on their journey.Thank you.“
By leaving the company YG ENTERTAINMENT, the group puts an end to 7 years of collaboration. The members will keep their artistic pseudonyms, fandom and their rights on all that concern the group iKON.
According to a Korean media, the members are already in negotiation with the agency 143 ENTERTAINMENT, to sign together and continue their activity as a group. However, nothing has been signed yet as a representative of the company said: “Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it is true that we are discussing different aspects with iKON“.
Still, we wish the best to the iKON group members and hope they will be successful.
