MIDNATT, the main character of Hybe Labels’ new musical project, has been unveiled.
Hybe Labels released “MIDNATT Mood Teaser” on its official YouTube channel on May 3. It is a video that suggests the sound source and the atmosphere of the artist which will be unveiled on May 15.
The sensual lines and the setting in motion are impressive. A wandering figure in a surreal space, an object carrying an intention and abstract images are quickly crossed with each other, stimulating the viewer’s imagination.
Regarding MIDNATT, Hybe said, “This is a project made through a collaboration between Big Hit Music and Hybe IM.” This is the so-called “Project L“, which Hybe Chairman Bang Si Hyuk mentioned in an interview with Billboard Magazine in the United States. He described the project as a “new conceptual project that combines music and technology” and said he planned to showcase “the result of a convergence that will enhance the musical experience for fans and audiences alike.”
Earlier, Hybe surprised with MIDNATT’s logo move, arousing the curiosity of music fans around the world. In fact, various interpretations have been made online to guess the identity of MIDNATT.
Hybe explained that the MIDNATT of the day before contained the artist’s ambition to awaken new life at the end of the day, at the beginning of another day, in addition to the dictionary meaning of “midnatt in Swedish” meaning midnight.
