(G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua) are back with a teenage look.
On MBC’s “Show Music Core” which aired on May 20, (G)I-DLE performed the comeback scene of its new song “Queencard.”
In an interview before going on stage, (G)I-DLE introduced the new song, “Queencard” is the story of five “Queen cards” who fell in love with me in the mirror, and it contains the message that “everyone is beautiful as he is.“
On this comeback leg, (G)I-DLE paired jeans with a cropped tee to reveal its free and confident charm. The group also grabbed attention with fashion items full of Y2K sensibility, such as baseball caps and colorful sunglasses. On top of that, (G)I-DLE’s performance with great completeness, in melody, lyrics and choreography, was aimed at fans around the world.
(G)I-DLE’s 6th mini album “I FEEL” surpassed 1.1 million pre-orders reaching its own highest level, and earned its first “Million seller” title on May 20. The group has also established itself as a global group by ranking first in 18 regions, including Singapore, Turkey, Mexico, Thailand and Hong Kong, in the iTunes Top Album category.
Immediately after its release, the music video and performance video for title track “Queencard” ranked first and second in popular YouTube videos, proving explosive interest from domestic and overseas fans. The track “Allergy”, which was pre-released ahead of its official release, also ranked second on US Billboard’s “Hot Trending Songs Powder by Twitter” chart, setting the stage for a record run.
(G)I-DLE will continue its activities with “Queencard”.
