SHINEE: KEY posts apology on his SNS

SHINEE’s KEY has apologized for the black bashing controversy.

KEY posted a post on his SNS on September 29, saying, “I think there are people who were uncomfortable and hurt by my inappropriate words and actions, so I’m just sorry.”

KEY then apologized again, saying, “From now on, I will be more careful not to be uncomfortable with my words and actions.”

Earlier, SHINEE’s YouTube channel revealed the first episode of its own entertainment show “Sha-gye-han.” In the video, TAEMIN told MINHO, “I only see white teeth since you played golf,” and KEY also criticized MINHO for “Why are you so tan?“

Since the video was released, foreign fans have pointed out that KEY and TAEMIN’s remarks were racist and demeaning to black people, and later the YouTube channel also apologized, saying: “we apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with certain content.” adding, “In the process of realistically capturing the members speaking, inappropriate words were included and the part was immediately removed after recognizing the problem.“
