“POCA ALBUM (포카앨범) (a combination of photo cards and albums)” attracts attention in the music market. The name POCA comes from “Photo cards”.

According to the 24 industry, the “POCA ALBUM” produced by the entertainment platform Makestar saw a rapid increase in sales during the year. Makestar’s sales are expected to reach 100 billion won this year, up from 47.9 billion won last year.
The group ATEEZ recorded around 230,000 copies with the albums Poca and (G)I-DLE recorded around 340,000 copies initially, while the Virtual Boy Group PLAVE, which debuted in March, recorded around 150,000 sales with Poca albums alone. Former IZ*ONE member LEE CHAE YEON also released a new album as a photo album without a CD.
The “Poca Album” is equipped with NFC and QR codes on a paper disc in the form of a photo card, so that when contacting a mobile device, you can easily enjoy various contents such as undisclosed sound sources, photos and exclusive videos in the application without time and space constraints.
There is also an ecological factor in managing the climate crisis. A Makestar official explained, “The photo album reduced the volume of the CD album and transformed ink and paper into eco-friendly materials, considering its impact on the environment.”
Is this the future of your future albums?
