SEVENTEEN surprises fans with an unexpected Trot version of its latest track “음악의 신” (“God of music”).

The K-pop group SEVENTEEN (consisting of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) have re-envisioned its song “음악의 신” (“God of Music”) into a Trot rendition, titled “경음악의 신” (“God of light music”).
On October 25th at 6 PM KST, SEVENTEEN unveiled a special episode of its show “GOING SEVENTEEN” titled “경음악의 신 #2” (“God of light music”) on its official social media platforms and YouTube channel. This entertainment content was crafted as part of the promotional activities for its 11th mini-album “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN“. In the previous episode, DINO had ventured into producing a Trot album under the pseudonym “Pi Cheolin” from the label “BOMG”.
In “경음악의 신 #2” (“God of light music”), “BOMG”‘s main artists JEONGHAN, WONWOO, et DK initiated recording for the track under the guidance of chief producer WOOZI. WONWOO, the first to record, finished in a single take, earning applause from all.
The recording session continued with JEONGHAN and DK, during which VERNON, nicknamed the “studio ghost”, popped up, humorously munching on a burger and stealing accessories. During the chorus recording by JOSHUA, HOSHI and THE8, VERNON chimed in, playfully causing distractions.
Following the successful recording session, a team dinner was arranged. During the meal, the “ghost” VERNON turned on the TV, coincidentally showcasing a news segment about SEVENTEEN‘s comeback with “음악의 신” (“God of music”). The members humorously responded with comments like, “The title sounds familiar“, and “Isn’t it plagiarized?“, ending the episode on a light-hearted note.
“GOING SEVENTEEN“, hailed as the pinnacle of self-produced K-pop entertainment content and more popular than the “Infinite Challenge” show, airs every Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
