Thanks to Melon’s ecological project “숲;트리밍 (Forest; Trimming)“, the forest along the Han River continues to thicken.

Melon, the music platform of Kakao Entertainment (CEO Lee Jinsoo and Kim Sungsoo), said it has created the second forest “SEVENEEN FOREST“, the third forest “LIM YOUNG WOONG Forest” and the fourth forest “BTS No.2 Forest” in Nanji Hangang Park in Seoul this month to open it to citizens.
“Forest; Trimming” is a project that has offered any paid Melon member the opportunity to create a forest named after an artist since June of last year. If you select the name of your favorite artist on the “Forest; Trimming” while using Melon’s regular payment voucher, 2% of the monthly payment will be automatically accrued. After that, if a total of 20 million won is accumulated for the artist, all the money will be donated to the Seoul Environmental Association to create a forest named after the artist in Seoul.
The group SEVENTEEN became the star of the best-selling album based on a single K-pop album with its 10th mini album “FML” released in April this year, and its cumulative amount exceeded 20 million won for the second time in the history of “Forest; Trimming” in May with the force of CARATs (fan of the group). As a result, Melon, the Seoul Environmental Association and the Future Hangang Headquarters of the Seoul Metropolitan Government jointly created a SEVENTEEN forest on the 11th of this month, consisting of three Ipop trees and 400 Namcheon trees in the park Nanji Hangang in Mapo-gu.
LIM YOUNG WOONG, a singer who enjoys nationwide popularity with the highest ratings for each of the country’s concert tours and entertainment programs, became the third main character in the forest in July, with his accumulation exceeding 20 million of won. The LIM YOUNG WOONG forest was also created in Nanji Hangang Park with the same composition as the forest in SEVENTEEN on the 18th.
The group BTS, which created the first forest of “Forest; Trimming” in April, exceeded 40 million won in accumulation at the end of August, and even created the “BTS No.2 Forest” on the 25th. The “BTS No.2” forest includes a total of 523 stocks, including three royal cherry trees, 300 kkotdaenggang trees and 220 rat dung trees, different from Forest No. 1 and its tree species. When all the trees grow, you will probably be able to enjoy each different natural design and charm of Forests 1 and 2.

If fans and citizens visit the lawn near the Nanji Information Center, they can visit the four forests, including BTS Forest 1 and 2, SEVENTEEN Forest, and LIM YOUNG WOONG Forest, which were established until now.
“Forest; Trimming” can have your participation by clicking on the “Forest trimming” menu that appears when you click on the shortcut tab located on the far right of the Melon application. Fans who support not only idols but also singers of various genres such as ballad, hip-hop, trot, and indi work hard to show good influence.
Han Minwoo, Head of Melon Marketing Group of Kakao Entertainment, said, “We sincerely thank fans for agreeing to create a forest named in honor of BTS, SEVENTEEN and LIM YOUNG WOONG, who are beloved by the entire nation “, adding: “Melon will do its best to shine through its good influence in collaboration with the project “Forest; Trimming.”
