Police won’t see drug-accused singer G-DRAGON (real name Kwon Ji Yong) again because “no charges have been filed.”

On December 13, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Drug Crime Investigation Unit announced that it would not detain G-DRAGON without charges next week.
Police recently reported that G-DRAGON tested negative during extensive drug testing and was unable to obtain results proving the allegations during the investigation of six witnesses. As a result, G-DRAGON‘s departure ban has not been extended and is expected to end quickly.
A drug deal reportedly began in September at an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul. The police obtained information that drugs were distributed at the entertainment establishment at that time and identified actors Lee Sun Gyun and artist G-DRAGON during investigation.
G-DRAGON voluntarily presented himself to the police on the 6th of last month to deny the allegations, and all simple reagent tests using urine and detailed National Forensic Service tests, requested by collecting hair and nails, were all negative.
Later, G-DRAGON said through its representative: “We are preparing to submit a number of complaints to investigative agencies by collecting evidence on insults, defamation and acts that violate the rights and interests of Kwon Ji Yong through self-monitoring and fan reports, and we will respond with the principle of zero tolerance.”
